Visitors enter through the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) located on 10-16 East Street.

Yes, we have a Visitor Code of Conduct.

Visitors are expected to respect staff and other visitors. Behaviour or language that is inappropriate, abusive, harassing, or threatening, including sexual harassment and racial or other slurs, will not be allowed. Refusal to follow this Code of Conduct and any rules—whether on print materials or as directed by staff—can result in removal from the premises.

Food and drink is not allowed inside of the gallery.

For the safety and protection of our staff, visitors, artifacts and objects the following items are disallowed:

1. Weapons, including guns and ammunition
2. Alcoholic beverages
3. Illegal items
4. Paint and chemicals, including pepper spray
5. Cutting tools, including knives and scissors
6. Tools and tool parts
7. Recreational equipment, including skates, skateboards and bicycles.

The Jamaica Music Museum is currently closed for renovation, installation and upgrading of it’s national collection. Opening Date to be announced. However, it continues to hosts performances, lectures and other events. The research team is available for consultation and outreach activities upon request
