Equal Rights: Reggae & Social Change

On August 12, check 2012 the Jamaica Music Museum Launched its first full fledged exhibition
titled “Equal Rights: Reggae and Social Change” at the Institute of Jamaica Lecture Hall.

The exhibition was endorsed as part of the Jamaica 50 celebrations. “Equal Rights: Reggae and Social Change”
displays album covers and posters that incorporate influences shared by Jamaican visual artists.

The Exhibition was inspired by the late Peter Tosh’s 1997 album, titled Equal Rights and traces the phenomenal power
that music, especially Reggae has had over the Jamaican people, since the 16th century.
